"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

Unforgivable

How do we deal with the pain when other Christians refuse to forgive us?  We’ve tried to communicate and sincerely ask for forgiveness but they won’t acknowledge us?    We’ve prayed, we’ve waited and we’ve even fasted but no results.  So now what?

Jesus taught in Matthew 5:23-26 that we need to “leave our sacrifice at the altar and go and seek forgiveness” when we’ve offended someone.  First of all we should allow the Holy Spirit to examine our own hearts.  Ask God to forgive us for our part in the situation…we may not even know if we’ve been offensive to someone but God does and He will empower us to do the right thing.  Whether or not their anger is justified, pray for them, bless them and love them.  They are only human just like we are.   Don’t be paralyzed by their unforgiveness.  Paul wrote in Romans 12:18:  “Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone”.  Paul also taught in Philippians 3:13-14: “forget what is behind and strain forward to what is ahead”.  Once you’ve done all you can, you are free whether the other person forgives you or not.
